about

This is a silly song about the vernal equinox and love. It is very silly and it namedrops Dilbert. Just warning you.

This was a serious contender for track 9 on the actual album I'm working on.

lyrics

it's been several months since autumn carried you away
one hundred eighty days of life in total disarray
you told me you'd return here when the axis is aligned
now it's the twenty-first of march, but what is this i find?

well you said you'd be here to stand
the egg upon its side
now the equinox is here, and you're not
and i said i'd be there to wipe
the pollen from your eyes
now the equinox has come and gone.

i know you meant the vernal, i checked before you left
but you stole my heart, and laughed, and called it petty theft
i know that might sound harsh, just like an unprovoked attack
i checked my dilbert calendar, and you're not coming back

but you said you'd be here to stand
the egg upon its side
now the equinox is here, and you're not
and i said i'd be there to wipe
the pollen from your eyes
now the equinox has come and gone.

the sun's arc is at a 90 degree latitude
that's no excuse for your bad attitude.

but you said you'd be here to stand
the egg upon its side
now the equinox is here, and you're not
and i said i'd be there to wipe
the pollen from your eyes
now the equinox has come and gone
